let's be extraordinary together.

i still have daaayyys of nyc adventures to share with you,
but life is hectic
{hockey season has started, you are looking at a new sports radio contributing guest host, i have that thing called a full time job, plus a smidge of a social life and everything in between}
BUT, before anymore time passes i need YOUR help!

one of my darlingest of friends, melanie,
{who i have known and loved since SEVENTH grade}
and her husband, justin, are looking to expand their family in the best of ways.
melanie and justin have an absolute angel of a little girl, miss edna jean, who has down syndrome.
{is she not THEE CUTEST you have ever seen?}
 and are currently in the process of adopting this precious little girl from eastern europe, nadiya, who also has down syndrome.
you can read all about the process and their adventure to love another sweet daughter on their blog:
so now here is where you come in...

have a kid who wants an american girl doll?
please visit {this} page on mel's blog to find out all the different ways you can enter the contest to snatch that doll up.
just in time for the holidays!

clean out those closets ladies & gents and give me your shoes!
we are basically handing you an excuse to purchase a new fall collection of footwear because mel is collecting your used {but still wearable} shoes.
she will be paid by the pound for the shoes she collects,
with the proceeds going directly toward the adoption fund.
even better, all the shoes donated will be sent to various parts of the world with communities in need.
so if you are in the southern california area and have a few pairs to spare, email me at so we can coordinate a pick-up/drop-off.
{obviously if you have my details, feel free to text/call}

don't want a doll and don't live close enough to hand over those shoes? no problem.
you can donate monetarily through the paypal  button on the blog's home page,
{please be advised they charge a 3% fee out of your donation}
or you can send a check to Reece's Rainbow with the names of Justin & Melanie Peters included in the memo to:
PO Box 4024
Gaithersburg, MD 20885

i know you, my absolutely dear followers, are an incredible bunch of people strewn throughout the world with all different backgrounds and interests and beliefs and logic.
but i also believe the one thing we can all agree on is the importance of children being fully and openly loved by incredible people.
and let me tell you...
this family is thee MOST incredible of people.
i feel so blessed to have such a positive influence in my life with a friend like mel,
a role model of the woman i can only dream of one day being like.
nadiya absolutely could not be placed with a more accepting and endearing family.
they will love her in the way every child deserves to be loved.
i whole heartedly know this.
so please, in any way you can, help their two worlds connect.
and this sweet little girl come to her new and forever home.
