as you can see, my january consisted of little to absolutely no time here.
that's because every free second i had was dedicated to a BIG party i threw for a little person.
back in december my co-worker asked if i could help plan a 1st birthday party for her daughter, charlize.
truth be told, i was terrified.
i have thrown lots of parties at work.
and i have thrown lots of parties for my own benefit.
but never have i been asked to throw a party for someone with an actual budget and real expectations and a whole lot of my pride at stake.
we started with the theme of down on the farm/southern country fun.
we hired a petting zoo, pony rides, face painter, balloon artist, and shaved ice creators.
we rented a tent to cover the chairs and tables, along with an old fashioned pop corn machine, cotton candy machine and bounce house.
our dessert table was all things tasty with southern charm.
and our lunch/dinner table was all things seafood and noodles.
the party favors were those fun little walking pet balloons you pay an arm & a leg for at South Coast Plaza.
thee birthday princess.
ruling the cotton candy machine.
my dessert table masterpiece.
T.McW with the sweet piggy from the petting zoo.
super proud of my balloon arch.
centerpieces for the dining tables.
cookies for the dessert table.
every one year old needs her own bottled water...
upclose at the dessert table.
pony rides on the block, something you don't see every day.
i would like to think, it turned out pretty darn well.
until she turns 2...xoxo.
