i can hear the bells.

eek-a-licious!
one of my dearest friends got ENGAGED last night!
jess & j are just about the cutest couple ever.

{physically & mentally...just look at these two}

i have known jess since i was a sophmore in college; we met during a summer job.
we were not immediate besties...
that came when we both were hired for the company permanently after college and sat next to each other on a daily basis.
she listened to my rants about needing a diet coke on the daily and i listened to her rants about graduating college.
we bonded over oreo milkshakes her mom made us and episodes of gossip girl.
and quickly learned we were more alike than different.

she is one of the most loyal people i have ever met.
in the times i have needed someone the most, jess is always the first one at the door.
she came to my brother's going away party at church, always made time to visit me when i was home from utah, and was the only friend of mine who offered to come with me to my grandma's funeral and hold my hand.
she is crazy hilarious, but doesn't put up with anyone's crap.
she is blunt, but consistently sincere.
and has one of the most gracious hearts you could ever find.

although i was in utah for most of her relationship with her j, i have had the priveledge to get to know him this past summer and it is a relief to say i honestly can't imagine a better person for my bestie.

congrats you two.
now let's plan a wedding!
xoxo.

are you afraid of the dark?

even though the weather here hasn't quite received the memo, i feel it is time to officially usher in fall...and therefore, HALLOWEEN.
my favorite holiday of all the holidays!
first step: things that scare moi out of her pretty little mind.
so i purchased this today...
and am prepared to never sleep again.

have you seen this yet loves?
i wouldn't even know how to begin to describe it,
other than thee craziest, weirdest, most wildly insane, out of this world smart, scariest thing i have ever seen.
apparently others agree as it received SEVENTEEN emmy nomiations this season.
i still have yet to actually see the opening credits in their entirety. i can't get through them without closing my eyes in one, if not all parts.
thee most hellishly scary 30 seconds of random images you have ever seen.
bible.

i cannot recommend it to everyone.
it is not for the faint of heart, mind, body or soul.
but to those who are in for the ride,
grab your nightlight and get goin'.

this kiss.

confession: not a day has gone by since the november 2010 release of katy perry's teenage dream that i haven't listened to one, if not all of the album tracks.
i am the pure definition of an addict.
come christmas music, 4th of july anthems and creepy halloween sounds, the cotton candy pop served on that album is always my preference.
the album, as a whole, is perfection.
i am biased, clearly, but luckily she has a solid track record to follow up my bias with.
let's not forget the album lead her to 5 #1 singles {the only in history by a female artist} and 5 grammy nominations, including the ever coveted album of the year.

over the past 2 years i have searched hi and low for a replacement.
not that i want to stop teenage dreaming, but more to find another artist capable of producing the same kind of record.
the one where you never skip a song, constantly repeat, and anything less than full car speaker volume is not enough.

enter carly rae jepsen.
her 2012 SMASH summer jam, call me maybe, came into all of our lives wether we really invited it or not.
and as my iTunes informed me last night i have, in fact, listened to it 209 times. holy gracious!
heck, the usa swim team finally decided even they weren't too cool to join in on the fun.
this past tuesday CRJ released her first mega studio album with the help from school boy records, the hit machine that made justin bieber an international household/casa/flat/hut name.
and she does not disappoint.
kiss has the teenage dream effect,
in a less critically acclaimed way.
although to her credit, all these tunesies, save for one, were penned by carly herself.
props girlfriend.
she starts off with the club hopping, synth pounding tiny little bows, and moves quickly into her newest single about a boy and a girl far away from home, their significant others, and responsibility with this kiss.
my personal fav, tonight i'm getting over you, was produced by the max martin, the creator behind every kelly clarkson, britney spears and yes, even katy perry, song we have ever blasted from our cars.
carly rae shows that she might not have a grammy nomination in her future,
but call me maybe wasn't simply a fluke.

don't believe my biased?
here is a little less glowing, but still rave review of this little missy from billboard magazine.

my prediction:
curiosity is the new call me maybe.
but then again, what do i know?

smile and wave.

pretty much the story of my current life.
so loves, if i am not responding to texts/emails/phone calls it is not that i hate you.
but rather i am so overwhelmed/stressed/busy at the moment i forgot the reason i actually had a second of time not scheduled for anything on saturday was, in fact, because IT IS MY MOTHER'S BIRTHDAY!
there ya have it.
i don't have a spare morning, afternoon, evening or good night for the next 3 weeks...THREE WEEKS!
who plans ahead like that?
just control freak me.
holy gracious!

forever yours...lashfully.

thee other night my super fancy co-workers let me in on their invite to the fancy opening of {lashfully}.
a new, yes you guessed it, lash store tucked into crystal cove on pch.
it was a blast and a half, although i think i took away more decorating tips for my future home than makeup tips.
the store is GOR-GE-OUS.
but we really got the party started after during my maiden trip to javier's.
now, loves, i adore mexican food.
the reason why is a bit of a weepy story so let's just go with it's my comfort food and call it a day.
i ate alot.
and drank a lot...of diet coke.
and thoroughly enjoyed a night out on the golden coast with two of the many reasons i love my job.

xoxo.

these words.

"There has been so much I haven't said over the years with a few different men for fear that those would be the words that would drive them away. And yet they left anyway. They left in the absence of my words, in the absence of my gentle unfolding before them."

well, isn't that the truth.

end of summer days

my gracious i have never been so busy in all my life.
in fact, i haven't logged on here in so long that my computer forgot my blog password.
how does this happen!??!
my mother calls it burning the candle at both ends.
i call it an active social life.

needless to say i have hundreds of stories to tell...
store grand openings, pool parties, bestie's new beach houses, ping pong championships, my new friend Siri, wedding planning and more.
but until then...i have a new hair do that needs blow drying on the nightly and a body that needs some beauty sleep.
xoxo.
